
Michele Finn Johnson’s short fiction collection, Development Times Vary, was the winner of the 2021 Moon City Press Short Fiction Award and was published in November 2022.
Michele’s creative nonfiction has been published in Mid-American Review, Colorado Review, DIAGRAM, Booth, Puerto del Sol, Pidgeonholes, Flyway: Journal of Writing & Environment, The Ilanot Review, and elsewhere. Her fiction has been published or is forthcoming in A Public Space, Barrelhouse, Necessary Fiction, The Adroit Journal, Bartleby Snopes, The Conium Review, SmokeLong Quarterly, Wigleaf, Split Lip Magazine, Corium Magazine, matchbook, and elsewhere.
Michele’s flash fiction, Santo Spirito, 1577, was selected for The Best Short Fictions 2019. Her creative nonfiction won an AWP Intro to Journals Project award and her work has received multiple nominations for a Pushcart Prize. Her work has been long-listed for Wigleaf’s Top 50, nominated for Best of the Net and Best Small Fictions and Best Microfiction. Michele currently serves as a Contributing Editor at Split Lip Magazine.
Michele holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in environmental engineering, both from Villanova University. She founded her environmental strategies consulting practice, Artemis, in 2002. Michele is a member of the Lighthouse Writers Workshop in Denver, Colorado.
Originally from Philadelphia, Michele now lives in Tucson with her husband, Karl. She is working on a novel and a collection of creative non-fiction. She tweets at @m_finn_johnson.
